Thank You Lunch

At the office today, me and my boss and a few others were invited to a luncheon at a restaurant near our office. We had a rather luxurious lunch. There were 12 of us, and we even had a nice special room for ourselves.

 

The organizer ordered a variety of dishes, we had like 2 types of prawns; the butter prawns and the other, the sweet and sour thai version. We also had 2 variety of fish, one fried, the other steamed, beef rendang, fried salted egg sotong, kangkung, fried chicken and some platter of satays and assorted condiments. We even ended with desserts, some ordered pavlova, chocolate larva cake etc..  

This luncheon is actually a thank you lunch by the department boss of the project owner/users in our bank. Most of the key person that took part in the project, like the project managers, and vendors are also invited. 

To be honest, this is actually the first time for me that, the users/project owner is actually kind/generous enough to give us a treat. During the lunch and even after it, each of us were thanked personally. Somehow or rather this gesture really showed that they are really sincere in thanking us. Seriously.. that's really nice of them :). Sometimes, it is actually those little things that motivates a person to do better or even continuing longer in its present workplace.. the human X factor.. 

Not only that, the entire luncheon itself is really lively too. Not too uptight or anything.  We had quite a laugh. Everyone is curious of each other, curious of everyone's age/how many children they have and even how old their children is.. I was  quite surprised that many don't really looked their age :). 

Today too is the first time we were asked to comment the good and the bad of the entire project.. hmm.. to me i find it to be quite a serious table topic.. but nevertheless, it is something good to ponder about too..
