delayed post : Jakarta Flood.
this is a delayed telecast post. typed this post using me laptop @ home whilewaiting for the water to subside.. fyi, jakarta lately has been hit by floods..some of the major road is flooded and roads leading to it is also jammed up..forcing us to delay our trip to the office..it is now approximately 1pm and we are still at our apartment.. hahaha...jakarta is truely a unique country...
anyhow .. for the past one week we r going back early..1stly was there's a case where the connection to a server is down..forcing our users to stop their work..the day after that it's our company annual dinner day.. so all employees are cordially invited to the dinner.. and the venue is at JW Marriot hotel Jakartayou must be wondering y Jakarta? well our company has a branch office here too and also their local staffs..since us being involved in Jakarta project we can attend too.. haha.. the event was really fun as many of us(from the same project) attends as well.. the food is ok.. not really good thou..but the best part would be the picture taking ... we really had fun. as i mentioned beforei had a crazy bunch of colleagues to work with all almost the same age group..we had crazee moments too like forcing so called "couples" to take picture together..with poses fit for wedding pictures.. hahaha.. a truly funny event...we also had lucky draw .. but as usual i aint lucky.. some of my colleagues won pen drives, and the best would be the sony ericsson hp..!!
yesterday again we left early from office due to the fogging job to our office space. one of our colleague was rumored that was hit by dengue fever.. so fogging must be done.. before the fogging.. we were told to keep away all our foods to avoid it being contaiminated. the warning was isssued at 4.30pm and the fogging is done at 5.30 however, when the news is heard immediately the entire office went chaotic as everyone is frantically searching for plastic bagto keep their things.. the entire environment becomes like a war is about to strike soonand everyone is packing up taking foods and drinks to leave the area asap !!funny indeed... lol !
since the fogging is to be done at 5.30 pm till 6.30 many of us decided to leave theoffice early. we had the same plan too.. furthermore one of our colleagues is celebrating his birthday the dayafter.. but he will fly back to malaysia on his birthday.. so we plan to have a nite out before he leaves. what a perfect timing. we went to have steamboat buffet at the shopping mall of our apartment..we again have a great time..as everyone was making jokes etc and the most funniest momentis the picture taking of him with my apartment roommate.. as rumour has it that the guy actuallyinterested with my roommate ! hahaha.. however our happy moments at one point is ruined by a rude woman who yelled at us.. to stop making so much noise.. we was like ? what the hell ? we r enjoying ourself.. yes we are loud but hey it is a public area.. at buffet steamboat shop..not too high class too.. anyhow friends of that lady later apologies to us.. it's crazy.
anyhow the fun continues and by the time it was time to sing the birthday song. in jakarta it is a norm to broadcast birthday songs .. so we had one too, with the cake tat we bot earlier. however, it was a local birthdaysong and we have no idea how to sing it. how funny.. !! then we sing our own version, english, mandarinthen the cantonese version... when we finish then only the english version of the bday song was broadcast.. so we sang again... :)
fyi, at tis point of the blog i am actually typing it now 3 days after the event.. due to i dun have time to publish and maintain this post. hard to find some private time myself with all my housemates at homeas we are again at home relaxing because we cant go to work due to floods. almost everyday at team is sent outto test the waters.. hehehe.. to set out to find which route that can get us to office..again almost everyday we failed. sound scary huh? indeed. but in taman anggrek area, where our apartment is located,we are safe, it is a high rise and the location is at a low density area. then it is a bit of a high class area..so it is more protected. specially design for ppl like us to stay in. safety first.
anyhow.. at our apartment as i mentioned again, below there's a shopping mall. there's a supermarket. these 2 days,we are quite scared as our house r running out of basic necessities like toilet rolls, and foods... we r running lowon indonesia rupiah too.. thou food is not hard to find.. we need money. due to tat we normally cook for lunch,to be eaten at office we went down to get the ingredients as well and we found that cooking ingredients like oil,onions,garlic,vegetables, instant noodles etc are limited and is almost sold out! and the queue is exceptionally long.. everyone,is buy loads and load of foods to stock up, fearing the floods that they might be stranded here at this area. we too are doin the same.
coincidentally our cooking gas runs out too yesterday.. and tis morning after knowing we cant make it to work..we quickly ordered gas and water to our apartment. now it's much better. yesterday too we got a whole chickenfor only rm4. it's really a good bargain as this chicken can ensure us to have lunch for 1 week, we havealredi plan out the menu.. 1st day spagetthi, 2nd day vege soup + boiled with chicken bones,3rd day sandwich, 4th day steam chicken with rice, 5th day maybe claypot chicken rice cook with rice cooker..yummy.. :) no fear and then a few days after that it's CNY !!! we will be goin back to MALAYSIA !! yes !!!!
well.. i've gtg .. time to sleep.. damn sleepy.. purposely stayed up to type tis post ...nites..enjoy.. !!
